SmartrMail (SM) is a powerful email marketing solution that helps businesses boost customer engagement and drive revenue through emails, newsletters, and SMS notifications. With its integration with BookThatApp (BTA), SM makes creating customized emails easier than ever. BTA users can now unlock new revenue opportunities with features like abandoned cart recovery, welcome emails, cross-sells, SMS, custom campaigns, and more.
This guide will cover the following sections:
Starting Your Free Trial
SmartrMail has been fully integrated with BookThatApp to provide you with a seamless experience. We have simplified the process so that you can start increasing your subscriber count and drive additional bookings. Let's get started!
- Access the BTA admin
- Select SmartrMail from the left-hand app navigation menu
- Complete the onboarding steps.
Note: uploading subscribers and enabling automations are optional during onboarding. You can skip these steps and revisit them later. All onboarding steps can be found by selecting Get Started from the Homepage of SM.
That’s it! Once you complete the onboarding process, you’ll land on the homepage, and your free Trial will be automatically set up by SmartrMail.
Details on the Free Trial
You may be wondering how the free trial works. Here are the details:
- The Trial period lasts for 15 days
- During the Trial, you will have access to all of the features from the Pro plan
- Ability to send a volume of emails equal to 5 times the number of active subscribers
- You can find the full details for each of the SM plans below.

Note- the base subscriber limit is higher for paying BTA users, and pricing will be lower for paying BTA customers: we offer $19 off the Essentials plan and $50 off the Pro plan.
After the Trial Ends
Your 15-day free trial is coming to an end. What happens next? This depends on the number of active subscribers that you have.
SM defines an active subscriber as:
- Any customer that signs up via the storefront pop-up
- Any customer that completes the Shopify checkout process and opts-in for e-mail marketing
I Have Less Than 5,000 Active Subscribers
If you have less than 5,000 active subscribers when the free trial period expires you will automatically be moved to the Free plan. Here is what you can expect from the Free plan:
- Access to most Essential plan features with some limitations, such as:
- Unable to send Back-in-stock automations (not relevant for booking services)
- Unable to create AI recommendation emails and you can only enable a single AI recommendation email.
- Unable to create new product feeds.
- The ability to send a volume of emails equal to 4 times the number of active subscribers that you have.
I Have More Than 5,000 Active Subscribers
If you have more than 5,000 active subscribers when the trial period ends your account will be updated to a paused Trial plan.
While on a paused Trial you can do the following:
- Access all pages in the app
- Upload subscribers
- Enable/disable pop-ups
- Get new subscribers from existing pop-ups
- Create and extract sign-up forms
- Get new subscribers from existing embedded forms
- Design emails
- Change various account settings
While on a paused Trial you cannot do the following:
- Send newsletters
- Send automated emails
- Send AI recommendation emails
- Extract emails that you have designed
In the background, we disable:
- Automatic syncing of customers, products, orders, and collections which means you will be unable to track new sales attributed to emails that were sent while you were on the free Trial.
- All Automations and AI recommendation emails that were enabled while you were on the free Trial.
Our Offer to You
Any paying user of BookThatApp with less than 5,000 active subscribers will receive a Free account in SmartrMail.
Any paying user of BTA with more than 5,000 active subscribers will receive an automatic discount of $19 off the Essentials plan or $50 off the Pro plan.
