Add Shopify Draft Orders from Bookings to Shopify Point of Sale (POS)

This article will walk you through the process of creating Draft orders from Manual Bookings in BookThatApp and adding these to the Point of Sale cart section.

Note: This method requires access to both Shopify admin and BTA app from the POS device via web browser.

Create a Draft Order from a Manual booking

You can create a Draft order in Shopify at the same time a manual booking is created in the app:

1. To create the manual booking, access the web version of the BTA app under Calendar or Bookings ► select "Create booking";
   
   
   
2. Fill in the corresponding fields with the booking information.
   
   
3. Before creating the booking, make sure to enable the checkbox option "Create Draft Order in Shopify" while leaving the Order field empty:
   
   
   
4. After submitting the manual booking, you can then access the Shopify Draft order by selecting the option "View Draft Order in Shopify".
   

Duplicate the Draft Order

At this point, Shopify does not support displaying Draft Orders generated by 3rd party apps. These require to be duplicated manually to change the Draft Order creator. The duplicated Draft Order will then be displayed in the POS app:

1. Upon accessing the Draft Order in Shopify, you can select the "Duplicate" option:
   
   
   
2. (Optional) You can proceed to remove/delete the original Draft Order created from the BTA app and also the manual booking if preferred. A new booking will be generated automatically from the duplicated Draft Order via POS checkout.

Add the Draft Order to POS cart

1. With the Draft Order adjusted in Shopify, you can access the Shopify POS app under Orders:
   
2. Select the "Drafts" option from the section dropdown:
   
3. Select the channels, select the Admin Channel:
   
4. Select the Draft Order created previously and hit "+ Load to Cart":
   
5. You can then proceed with the remaining checkout process via POS. 

Upon completing the checkout process, this will create a corresponding Shopify Order alongside a new Booking in the app. The original booking can then be removed from the app to remove any duplicates.
