BTA offers the ability to setup iCal integrations that can be product specific or resource based. This should not be confused with the previous ability to create a direct connection to the Google calendar via a staff account that is connected to a resource.
If you offer a product that can be booked in the app as well as on an external site this will allow the product’s availability to be updated in the app. This saves you time because you will not need to create a manual booking or blackout to compensate for the external booking.
First you will need to retrieve the iCal feed, specific to the product, from your external site. Then you will access the product in BTA and select the Settings tab from the top of the screen. You will now be able to enter in the external calendar info so that when the product is booked on the external site the corresponding days will show as unavailable in your Shopify online store.
For instance, say you have a service provider that you have setup as a resource in the app. It is now possible for their busy time from their external calendar to be reflected in the app without creating corresponding staff account.
It will work by affecting the availability of the products the resource is associated with. This is great for stores that have a service provider that handles multiple services.
To implement this you will access the resource in the app via the Resource section and select the Settings tab. There you will be able to add the external calendar info.
